Originally very tarnished, but after more than an hour and 3 passes with a high quality polish the final product looks very bright with a mirror like finish.
The larger tea pot pictured here was not actually part of this set, but it is now. Has markings on the bottom that read "INDIA REG". Based on the sheen it was probably made earlier sometime around 1983. The finish on the other pieces here that have a mirror like finish are of a newer vintage.
The top had to be resoldered and brass plated since it had broken off years ago. The handle, spout and top are soldered to the pot. All sets of this type are done in this fashion. If done properly solder is stronger than glue. The exterior has been lacquered to protect the finish.
The pot seen here had to have the spout resoldered and brass plated since it easily broke off during examination. The exterior has been lacquered to protect the finish also.
The serving tray is a little more substantial than it looks. Almost all of the enameled paint is intact. It has not been lacquered, but has been waxed. Some of the residual wax shows up as white spots that really cannot be seen with the human eye under normal examination.
The bottom side of the serving tray has the place of origin inscribed and reads "INDIA".
The goblets are enameled in red and blue and probably hold 1/4 ounce each. Anomalies in the photograph show imperfections that are not there.
The interiors of the goblets are shiny, but not mirror like. All of the goblets were waxed on the exterior and interior.
Vintage Brass Turkish Tea Set, Circa 1993
A collection of images from a vintage brass Turkish design tea set made in India. A somewhat kitschy decorative item that was made in the same way this type of tea set was made more than 50 years ago. Hard to tell exactly when it was made, but based on how tarnished this set looked before polishing and the mirror like finish seen afterwards UserX places this item somewhere in the early 1990's. Older vintage items of this type would not have a mirror like finish when polished.
Large Tea Pot Size : 6 7/8 inches X 4 7/8 inches

The flash from the camera brings out the hand polished wax more than it would viewed by the human eye. You can zoom in on the images if you mouse over them. During autoplay zoom is disabled. Shrinking the browser window will shrink its contents possibly making it easier to view the gallery.
Valued in the range of $70 - $130.
