Where the hose meets the base has been reinforced with marine grade epoxy and has been painted black. This area tends to be a weak point for most hookahs of this type.
The hose is a replacement and is made from a flexible cardboard like material. It is more than 15 years old and shows no sign of deterioration. Anything that looks like brass is.
There are gaskets for the stem and the hose to form an airtight seal.
The bottom has been reinforced with epoxy. The passageways have been cleared out. The shorter brass stem is a replacement.
Vintage Hookah, Circa 1978
A collection of images from a reconditioned hookah from the late 1970's. A working usable piece that has not been smoked out of for more than 30 years. It is more of a novelty and decorative piece.
Much work has been done as these types of items tend to be made cheaply. The bottle is actually a cylinder vase that is quite thick.
You can zoom in on the images if you mouse over them. During autoplay zoom is disabled.
Valued in the range of $50 - $100.
