A very stylish clock which has a convex glass crystal with an acrylic disk behind it with the numbers painted on. Really gives the face an unusual three dimensional look.
The chrome on this clock is plated metal and not plastic.
Originally thought these Phillips screws looked a little out of place, but have seen others with the same screws. Older versions of this clock have slotted screws.
The paint is nearly perfect with a couple of very tiny blemishes. The entire exterior body has been cleaned, polished and waxed.
The picture is a little grainy since the camera's ISO speed has been set to 400. The glow is exaggerated as a result. It has been stated that the phosphors only last about 30 years or so. This one will need to be repainted at some point.
The entire clock except for the dial and movement has been completely disassembled. Notice that the dial is a green metallic. The discoloration seen on one of the body pieces will not clean off. Do not know what it is. The acrylic dial is aligned by 2 molded studs that fit into 2 holes on the green dial and backing plate. This particular clock has one broken stud. Has been glued to keep it in place. Have seen a few of these clocks on the Internet where the dial numbers are in the wrong position. Both of their studs have broken off in all likelyhood.
The tiny plastic gear pictured to the left had a crack in it and as a result was not able to set the alarm. It has been glued with a plastics bonder and works flawlessly now.
The movement back plate has the number 9303 stamped into it. The movement has been polished and looks more shiney than this picture would indicate. All pivots have been properly lubricated. The mainspring and alarm spring have been cleaned with a toothpick soaked in synthetic oil to keep them from binding during operation.
The movement back plate also has Shanghai China stamped into it along with Chinese writing reading the same from right to left.

A collection of images from a reconditioned, serviced and calibrated analogue alarm clock manufactured by Shanghai Diamond from The People's Republic of China.
The flash from the camera makes the piece look dustier than it normally would look to the human eye. You can zoom in on the images if you mouse over them. During autoplay zoom is disabled. Shrinking the browser window will shrink its contents possibly making it easier to view the gallery.
